Government

1. Government Structure

• Core Framework: The United States Constitution remains fully in effect under a federal, three-branch government model. Traditional states have been legally replaced by sovereign, hyper-dense Mega Cities.
• The Legislative Branch:
  • The Senate: Composed of a fixed number of seats allocated equally to each sovereign Mega City.
  • The House of Representatives: Seats are determined strictly by registered population within each Mega City.
• The Judicial Branch: Federal judges and Supreme Court justices are appointed by the executive and confirmed by the Senate.
• The Executive Branch: Consists of exactly three core functions:
  • The Bureau of Land Management: Managing all territorial logistics, land designations, and resource allocations across the Outlands. The BLM directly coordinates, posts, and executes competitive public auctions for specific territorial tracts nominated by corporate entities.
  • The Department of the Treasury: The Treasury manages taxation, the federal banking framework, and the single, legally unified monetary architecture (USD). While also formally reviewing, executing, and auditing the long-term land lease contracts produced by BLM auctions.
  • The Department of Defense: Maintaining a strong centralized military leveraged both foreign and domestically. The Executive can legally delegate violence monopoly powers to City security forces to act as proxies as federal law permits.

2. The Outlands

• Scope: All physical land not explicitly bound by a Mega City sovereign holdings, encompassing the physical footprint of the pre-consolidated United States (crumbling interstate networks, decaying suburban developments, dying rural farming communities, and the hollowed-out husks of old-world towns and minor cities).
• History: The result of a multi-generational, grinding economic migration and systemic abandonment. Over decades, capital, infrastructure, and federal funding were gradually withdrawn from the interior and concentrated into the rising Mega Cities.
• Law Enforcement: Federal law enforcement is minimal. Security forces deploy to the Outlands primarily to protect the specific economic investments, assets, and supply lines of powerful interests within the Mega Cities.

3. The US Dollar

• Macro-Tier Settlement: Corporations settle multi-billion-dollar transactions strictly in digitized US dollars managed through the federal banking framework and arbitrated by constitutional courts.
• Benefits: A Mega City citizen's compensation is heavily centered on employer-sponsored lifestyle packages (housing, utilities, healthcare, grid access) presented as a primary job perk.
• Disposable Income: Remaining salary is issued as liquid, digital US dollars used to pay for extras, luxuries, independent services, or intra-Mega City peer-to-peer trade. Buying a higher tier of lifestyle entirely out-of-pocket on the open retail market is heavily inflated, keeping upward mobility tied to climbing corporate employment tiers.
• Physical Currency: Physical cash circulating in the Outlands is legally identical to digital currency inside the Mega Cities.
  • Polymer Cash: New polymer bills are used by corporations to pay laborers in fortified rural verticals. But still represent USD and are legal tender.
  • Linen Cash: Pre-consolidation paper cash salvaged by Outlanders from abandoned banks and vaults.
• The One-Way Valve: Due to severe corporate price inflation on unbundled retail items, physical cash brought into a Mega City is rapidly depleted. When physical bills enter a Mega City checkpoint or automated teller slot, they are permanently reclaimed and destroyed, pulling untracked currency out of circulation. Conversely, withdrawing digital USD into physical cash requires strict bureaucratic justification to clear anti-capital-flight controls.

4. Industrial Sectors

• Energy & Synthetic Chemistry : Progressive Molten Salt Reactors and breeder reactors provide most energy needs. Additionally these facilities run mass-scale carbon capture to synthesize high-grade, expensive hydrocarbons to fuel high-performance locomotion and military assets.
• Locomotion: Heavy logistics rail networks, wheeled electric urban transport, short-range quadcopters, and high-performance, synthetic-hydrocarbon-burning personal VTOL jets.
• Military: The high-tech war machine of the Department of Defense and the proxy security forces, leveraging advanced kinetic weaponry, armored vehicles, and automated surveillance.
• Space: Orbital tourism for the elite, asteroid/lunar mining for rare elements, and orbital construction platforms.
• Silicon Compute & Telecom: High-density processors, quantum encryption networks, data backbones, and the predictive algorithms that run the automated urban matrix and algorithmic parole systems.
• Automated Entities: Terrestrial, Space and Industrial.
• Medical: Advanced corporate healthcare networks, life-extension therapies, and biometric monitoring systems tied directly to urban citizen employment tiers.
• Entertainment / Lifestyle / Food: The consumer layer driving the urban subscription matrix—synthetic food engineering, immersive digital entertainment, and curated lifestyle spaces designed to keep City citizens engaged.
