It follows a “tell, not show” philosophy. You rarely see major events firsthand; instead, you learn about them through the people who pass through your door, the rumors posted on the station’s bulletin board, and the mementos or cargo they carry with them. The larger galaxy exists just beyond your reach, its stories arriving in fragments for you to piece together.

Your shop itself is made up of distinct spaces, each with its own tone and role:

  • The Office – A private, lived‑in workspace behind the counter where you handle orders, check messages, and keep personal records. Every surface feels like it has a history, from well‑worn chairs to pinned notes and small personal treasures.
  • The Underdeck Storage – Down a narrow stairwell from the office, this quiet, industrial space holds your stock. Stacks of crates, spare shelving, and dim, warm light give it an intimate, utilitarian character — the kind of place where time seems to slow.
  • The Customer Service Desk – An outward‑facing extension of the office, where transactions are made, quick conversations happen, and special orders are taken.
  • The Showroom Floor – Functional and utilitarian at its core, built from the same brushed metal panels and modular fixtures seen elsewhere on the station. This base look provides a blank canvas that you transform over time with displays, furniture, and decorative touches.
  • The Outer Hallway – A public concourse just beyond your shop, where station residents and travelers pass by on their way elsewhere. Across the hall are other storefronts — decorative but full of ambiance — such as a steaming noodle bar, a bright pet shop, or a souvenir stand. Together, this area feels like a small, floating marketplace, part of a much larger station community.

From the start, you can influence how your space feels by choosing a base aesthetic for the showroom, or blending elements from multiple styles:

  • Cyberpunk – Neon accents, layered signage, reflections against worn metal panels, a slightly chaotic vibrancy that feels alive with stories.
  • NormCore – Practical and welcoming, with sturdy shelving, muted colors, and familiar touches that speak to comfort and routine.
  • High‑End Futurist – Sleek lines, premium finishes, balanced lighting, and a quiet sense of order and precision.

These styles are not fixed; over time you can mix and match elements to create a hybrid look, making the space uniquely yours. Just as the people who visit shape the ongoing stories of your shop, your design choices shape the mood in which those stories unfold.

Thematically, the game is about finding significance in small places — about tending a single corner of a vast world, where change comes in the form of subtle conversations, shifting décor, and the passing faces of travelers. Even though your view rarely strays beyond your shopfront, the station’s heartbeat — and the galaxy’s stories — flow constantly past your door.
